Jeremy Ruckert in Concussion Protocol; Zach Misses Practice on Monday

There is a short week of work for the NY Jets as they prepare to take on the Cleveland Browns on Thursday. Robert Saleh spoke to the media on Monday (Christmas Day) and gave a few updates. Zach Wilson did not practice he is still in the concussionn protocol. Saleh said they will know more about his status tomorrow. Jeremy Ruckert is also in the concussion protocol and he missed practice on Monday. Ruckert shined in a slightly new role on Sunday, as he had several big blocks coming out of the backfield on running plays.

What are your expectations for Zach Wilson and Jeremy Ruckert, both guys in the protocol?

(Jeremy) Ruckert, he’s entering the protocol, so he’ll be out. As for as Zach, (Wilson) we’ll get more information tomorrow.

Has Zach been able to do anything yet, Robert, in terms of working on the treadmill, any of that stuff? I know he hasn’t practiced.

Yeah, he’s progressing. As far as where the symptom score is, I’ll just keep that with the docs (doctors), but like I said, we’ll have more information tomorrow. Hopeful, but he’s not out of the woods yet.

Just walk through this week because of the short week?

Yeah, we’ll do a little something on Wednesday, just to get their legs moving because that’s a traditional two days after a game, but for the most part it is all walk through.

Duane Brown, Justin Hardee and Aaron Rodgers also missed practice for the Jets on Monday. Israel Abanikanda, Ashtyn Davis, John Franklin-Myers and Greg Zeurlein were all limited. QB Trevor Siemian is listed with a right elbow injury but he participated in full on Monday.
