Jets Sign Former Ravens Guard John Simpson

Hoping to improve their putrid play along the offensive line, the New York Jets have added free agent offensive lineman John Simpson who started every game last season for the Baltimore Ravens after coming over from the Las Vegas Raiders.

The 92nd ranked free agent as a part of PFF’s top 100, Simpson isn’t a name many Jets fans were mentioning prior to the  start of free agency but they’ll want to get familiar with him now.

According to PFF’s scouting notes, Simpson is impressive when pulling in “launching linebackers or defensive back to Neptune” but his grades don’t say a whole lot about him.

Most concerning about Simpson is having been flagged 11 times, making him one of the worst offenders in the NFL.  Simpson is expected to take over for the recently released Laken Tomlinson.

More to come on Simpson as we take a peek at his all 22 film.
