Ashtyn Davis Returns to Jets on 1-Year Deal

The Jets have retained one of their own as free agent safety Ashtyn Davis has inked a 1-year deal to remain in New York.  Davis, a 2020 third-round draft choice (68th overall)

had his best season as a pro in 2023.  The story was first reported by NFL insider Mike Garafolo.

An afterthought in 2022 (13 snaps played) after a disappointing start to his career, Davis started five games in 2023 and intercepted a career high 3 passes.  He also emerged as a top special teams player where he logged a dozen tackles on coverage teams.

Davis is now the only player remaining on the team from the 2020 draft class after Bryce Hall signed with the Tampa Bay Bucs and Mekhi Becton expected to depart via free agency.
