Jets Waive Injured Safety, Claim Former Eagle off Waivers

The Jets parted ways with one former Clemson Tiger before replacing him with one of his college teammates.  Safety Jaylin Simpson was let go and to fill his roster spot, Mario Goodrich was added.

The two paired in Clemson’s defensive backfield together from 2019-2021 before Goodrich left for the NFL.

Goodrich hasn’t seen much action as a pro, appearing in just four games with the Philadelphia Eagles back in 2023 with one of those games being a start.

According to the folks at Pro Football Focus, Goodrich has given up 11 receptions on 11 targets and a pair of touchdowns as a pro.
