Add former Jets offensive lineman Willie Colon to the list of critics to go on record in saying the Justin Fields “is not an NFL quarterback”. Harsh criticism for sure, but is he wrong?
Fields and the offense struggled once again as the quarterback eclipsed 100 yards passing for just the second time in his last five starts. Always looking to give the quarterback a pass, head coach Aaron Glenn said he would have to “watch the film” to evaluate Fields’ play, but even he knows that isn’t true.
As is the case more often than not, Fields was missing wide open receivers and holding on to the football for too long. This is now year five of these issues presenting themselves. Earlier this season, it was former tackle Damien Woody who made a similar proclamation, saying Fields is not an NFL starter.
