In serious need of depth along the offensive line, the Jets are making a deal for Raiders center Jordan Meredith. This, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The Jets will be sending a 2027 sixth-round pick to Las Vegas for Meredith and a 2029 7th.
Meredith, a college guard out of Western Kentucky who made the switch to center in the NFL. He graded out as a solid pro in 2025 with an overall grade of 80.8 in 2024 before a dip to 57.7 last season.
Josh Myers is currently slated to start for the Jets at center but it may not be out of the question to expect Meredith to challenge him at some point.

Overview
Smaller, short-armed interior lineman who might require a camp shift to center due to his physical limitations. He’s an above-average run blocker with very good feel for angles and landmarks when asked to block on the move. He has the potential to compete in power, gap and zone schemes based on his ability. His lack of size and length shows up more in pass protection than it does in the run game. He’s likely to struggle in finding the range to protect his gaps in pass protection and his redirection for recovery blocks is just average. He’s unlikely to be drafted but could be a competitive addition in camp.
With roster cut downs due in the coming hours, the move could be a bad sign for backup center Xavier Newman, who many believed would make the Jets roster once again.
