Now that the Jets 53 man roster is official, it’s time to focus on the waiver claims and practice squad. Always important to remember that practice squad additions are reported but not official until announced by the team.
LB Troy Reeder: According to Connor Hughes, the Jets have added Reeder to their practice squad. The seven-year pro has spent time with both the Chargers and Rams, starting 38 games, picking up 335 tackles and five sacks.
DE Nate Lynn: After picking up three sacks in 2 games over just ten days in the preseason, it’s fair to say Lynn has become a quick fan favorite. Now he’s coming back to the practice squad according to Connor Hughes.
CB Mory Bamba: Bamba has been sideline with a knee injury since the Jets preseason opener when he opened plenty of eyes making several big plays.
CB Sam Womack: Womack was one of many Jets DB’s to have a strong camp and the Jets clearly saw that as they brought him back.
WR Jamaal Pritchett: Pritchett didn’t have his number called often this preseason, but his elusiveness is hard to ignore.
WR Malik McClain: McClain give the Jets a 6′ 4” developmental receiver who showed plenty on special teams.
G Marquis Hayes: Hayes has been with the Jets for a couple of seasons now and played well enough to hang around.
DT Jack Heflin: Heflin had a great final contest of the exhibition season with 9 tackles from his defensive tackle spot.
WR Cam Camper: Another pass catcher added to the list, Camper did have some attention grabbing reps throughout camp.
DT Payton Page: Page really popped on film against the Steelers which landed the former UDFA back on the practice squad.
CB Jordan Clark: Clark was projected by many to make the 53 man roster after a great camp but he was waived and lands on the practice squad.
QB Bailey Zappe: Zappe threw a pick six in his first appearance of the preseason and struggled to move the ball after that but comes back as a veteran option who knows the play book.
RB Al-Jay Henderson: Henderson went undrafted and worked out for the Jets but didn’t get an offer from Gang Green. Today, he did and lands on the practice squad.
K Jason Sanders: Sanders lost his roster spot after a poor preseason but looks like he’ll hang around on the practice squad to start the season.
Edge: Paschal Ekeji: The International Pathway Program edge is a former rugby player who has some impressive traits but has a way to go.
LB Jaden Keller: Keller joined the team later than most UDFAs but did have a good enough camp to get a callback from the Jets.
OG Xavier Newman: Newman was another guy who many thought would make the active roster yet again but he was cut loose and comes back on the practice squad.
