Tomorrow is the season opener against Robert Saleh and the Titans, with Jason Sanders set to handle the kicking duties and Breece Hall, Isaiah Davis and Kenyon Sadiq cleared to play. Joseph Ossai and Tim Patrick are out, while D’Angelo Ponds and Kene Nwangwu are doubtful. The biggest football question now is whether Aaron Glenn’s rebuilt roster can translate an encouraging offseason into actual wins. New York’s offensive line gets an immediate test against Jeffery Simmons, and the defense has a chance to finally end last season’s bizarre interception drought. Here are Saturday’s latest Jets News headlines and the best Week 1 coverage from Friday.

Jason Sanders Gets the Call for Jets Against Titans – JetNation
Jason Sanders will kick for the Jets in Sunday’s opener, although Aaron Glenn says the competition with Blake Grupe is not over. Sanders has the advantage of months of work with long snapper Thomas Hennessy and holder Austin McNamara, while Grupe has been with the team for less than two weeks. Sanders won the original summer competition against Cade York, was briefly released after Grupe was claimed, and now gets the first regular-season opportunity.
Jets Injury Report: Joseph Ossai, Tim Patrick Out for Week 1 vs. Titans – JetNation
The final injury report brings both good and bad news. Joseph Ossai and Tim Patrick are out, while D’Angelo Ponds and Kene Nwangwu are doubtful. Breece Hall, Isaiah Davis and first-round tight end Kenyon Sadiq have no game designation and are ready to play. Tennessee will be without starting linebacker Cedric Gray, creating another matchup for the Jets offense to attack.
