Idzik Overhauls Front Office

Several sources are reporting that Jets GM John Idzik is continuing his shakeup of the front office.  This time Assistant General Manager Scott Cohen is the odd man out and he won’t have his contract renewed.

Manish Mehta also reported:

Director of Football Administration Ari Nissim, the team’s contract negotiator, also won’t return, according to a source.

Cohen, who spent time with the Redskins, Jaguars and Eagles before joining the Jets in 2008, interviewed for Gang Green’s G.M. vacancy before Woody Johnson hired Idzik.

Cohen follows JoJo Wooden, who left last week to become the Chargers Director of Player Personnel.

Idzik has also moved on from three scouts this offseason, including Mike Davis, who served as the organization’s longtime assistant scouting director.

As Slats pointed out in the JetNation Forums:

This offseason was for absorbing some pain, and laying a couple bricks for the foundation. Next year is the real makeover. Idzik needs to put his team in place now in preparation. Letting people go is a start, I guess, but I’m looking forward to hearing about who he’s bringing in.

Which leaves the question, can Terry Bradway be far behind?

I started JetNation in 2005 and have been a New York Jets season ticket holder since graduating from high school. My dream is to see the New York Jets win the Super Bowl. Until then, I will be right here on JetNation writing, dreaming and talking NY Jets football.
