Jets Place Chuma Edoga and Jeff Smith on IR, add Practice Squad Receiver

A pair of rookies had their seasons ended prematurely when the Jets placed offensive lineman Chuma Edoga and wide receiver Jeff Smith on IR with just two games left in the season.

Edoga racked up a handful of starts earlier this season but struggled mightily in pass protection while Smith spent most of the year on the practice squad before making his NFL debut last week in a game that saw him leave early with an ankle injury after catching one pass for 1 yards.

The team also added wide receiver Keon Hatcher to the practice squad after cutting center Ryan Crozier who had been on the practice squad for the past several weeks.
