Jets Host Washington State Linebacker Daiyan Henley

Could Washington State linebacker Daiyan Henley be what the Jets are looking for to beef up the team’s defense on the second level?  It would seem Joe Douglas and the Jets are trying to find an answer to that question themselves in hosting Henley at 1 Jets Drive on a pre-draft visit.

We profiled Henley right here just a few weeks ago as the uber athletic ‘backer has gone from sleeper to likely round two pick.

Henley sent out a picture via Instagram to let folks know he was in town to meet with Gang Green.

The converted wide receiver had himself a monster year at Washington State after starting his career in Nevada as a pass catcher.  In 2022, Henley posted career highs in tackles, tackles for loss and sacks with 106, 12 and 4 respectively.

With little depth at linebacker behind CJ Mosley and Quincy Williams, taking one in the draft seems inevitable at this point.  While there are lots of quality options in this year’s class, few possess the type of athleticism Henley does.  As teams look to find linebackers who can excel in more than just one area, Henley has the tools to be exactly what the future of the position is looking for.
