Bam Knight, Trey Dean Among Jets First let go as Cuts Begin

The names of Jets players being let go have started to roll in with running back Bam Knight and Trey Dean being two of the more surprising names to be let go thus far.  Dean was one of the top defenders on the roster this preseason while Knight was as good as or better than his primary competition, Michael Carter.

Knight was of course an undrafted free agent while the Jets used a pick on Carter which gave him an edge in the competition.

The team also placed cornerback Jimmy Moreland in injured reserve and parted ways with offensive lineman Greg Senat, linebackers Pita Taumopenu and Nick Vigil.

Wide receiver and return man Alex Erickson who found the end zone twice against the Giants was also let go as was safety Marquis Waters and undrafted free agent linebacker Claudin Cherelus according to the folks at uStadium.

Expect several more names to roll in between now and tomorrow’s 4pm deadline.
