Jets add Corner Brian Poole to Bolster Secondary

Continuing to round out their roster, the Jets have come to terms with cornerback Brian Poole, formerly of the Atlanta Falcons. The 26 year old Poole was an undrafted free agent in 2016 out of Florida. He is 5’10” and is listed at 205 lbs.

Andy Vasquez provides a little more insight into Poole on NJ.com.

The deal is for one year at $3.5 million.  Poole is expected to take over the role left vacant by the departed Buster Skrine.

The 5-foot-10 corner is particularly good at getting to the quarterback — he had three sacks last season, fifth among all NFL defensive backs. Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams likes to send pressure at the quarterback from all over his defense, so Poole should be a good fit.

Poole also had tree interceptions, six passes defended, two fumble recoveries, but the Falcons decided not to tender the restricted free agent who went undrafted out of Florida in 2016.
