Jets Trim Roster to 85 as Cam Clark Goes on IR, 3 Others Let go

The Jets got down to the required 85 man roster today by moving offensive lineman Cam Clark to injured reserve as a result of the spinal contusion he suffered in practice over a week ago.

The team also parted ways with safety Bennett Jackson, defensive lineman Michale Dwumfour and running back Austin Walter.

The moves come one day after letting go of undrafted rookie free agent kicker Chris Naggar.

Dwumfour is a player who could be brought back as practice squad material in the future.  Dwumfour turned in an impressive performance against the Giants last week in which he picked up half a sack and a fumble recovery but the Jets depth on the defensive line was a bit too much for him to overcome at this point.

With a deep running back room, Walter’s fate was likely when he had a sloppy punt return against the Giants while being held to minus-3 yards on four carries.
