Breer: Jets one of two Teams to Contact Raiders About Carr

Those fans curious as to why there was no reported interest from the Jets in Raiders quarterback Derek Carr will be happy with this nugget from NFL insider Albert Breer of si.com.

The chances of that happening were always slim, and they’re basically none now. So my guess is the Raiders will cut Carr, maybe Monday, maybe Tuesday, and the Saints and Jets (the only other team to inquire with the Raiders on him) will look into signing him later in the week.

According to Breer, Carr’s pending release should be met with interest from the Jets who, along with the Saints, were the only two teams to check in on Carr’s price tag.

Carr is expected to be let go in the coming days and will be able to sign wherever he chooses.  He’s expected to generate heavy interest from the entire NFC South where teams are lacking a franchise quarterback.
