Garafolo: Derek Carr to Visit Jets this Weekend

Mike Garafolo from the NFL Network is reporting that the Jets will be bringing free agent QB Derek Carr in for a visit this weekend. The Jets have been rumored to be interested in Aaron Rodgers, and now this formally links them to Derek Carr. The soon to be 32 year old, Carr has thrown for over 35,000 yards in his career, all with the Raiders. A veteran QB with 217 touchdowns and 99 interceptions would certainly bring credibility to the QB room that has been missing for years. Carr had previously met with the New Orleans Saints

.

The Jets know that Zach Wilson isn’t the answer right now. Will he ever be the answer, that is another question. With a win now defense and so many talented skill position players on offense, this roster is going to be appealing to a new QB. Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, Elijah Moore and a commitment to fix the offensive line from Joe Douglas would be extremely tempting for a veteran QB.

It will all have to play out, but it remains to be seen who the Jets top choice is and if they will land him. For now we know Carr is coming to town, so the team seems to be taking their commitment to upgrade the QB position seriously.
