Patrick Turner Added to the Roster

Yesterday the New York Jets waived S Andrew Sendejo who they had picked up from the Cowboys.  Today they have promoted WR Patrick Turner from the practice squad to the active roster.

From the NY Jets PR Department:

The New York Jets have signed wide receiver Patrick Turner to the active roster and tight end Josh Baker to the practice squad. The announcements were made by general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Turner (WR/6-5/220/Southern California/Nashville, TN) was signed to the Jets practice squad (09/04/2011) after being waived (09/03/2011).  He originally joined the Jets (09/05/2010) after being claimed off waivers from the Miami Dolphins.  Turner recorded his first two NFL receptions for a total of 26 yards last season. He entered the NFL as a third-round draft selection by Miami in the 2009 NFL Draft, where he saw action in two games as a rookie. Turner finished his collegiate career with 138 receptions for 1,752 yards and 17 touchdowns in four seasons at USC.

Baker (TE/6-3/244/N.W. Missouri/Chesapeake, VA) was signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent (07/27/11), spending training camp with the team before being waived (09/03/11).  He recorded six receptions for 75 yards during the preseason.  Before the NFL, Baker played collegiately at N.W. Missouri and Delaware.  As a senior at N.W. Missouri, he totaled 132 rushing yards and 838 receiving yards.
