NEW YORK JETS QB CHAD PENNINGTON UNDERGOES ARTHROSCOPIC SURGERY
New York City –
The New York Jets announced today that six-year quarterback Chad Pennington underwent arthroscopic surgery on Thursday, October 6, 2005 to repair his injured right shoulder. The procedure was conducted by Dr. James Andrews at his facility in Birmingham, Alabama.
Pennington, 29, underwent a small rotator cuff repair and repair of the anterior capsule and labrum through an arthroscopic procedure. He will begin rehabilitation and a therapy program immediately, which will be monitored by the New York Jets medical and training staff and Dr. Andrews.

With completion of this procedure, the New York Jets remain optimistic that with the proper rehabilitation and time for healing, Pennington will be ready for the 2006 season.
