Jetnation Week Six Picks

by Nick Ferraro

Last Week = 9 – 2 – 2 vs. spread (12 – 1 straight up)

Year to Date = 34 – 35 – 1 vs. spread (46 – 25 – 1 straight up)

Week five was our best week so far, and that’s two big weeks in a row.  Over the last two Sundays, we are 18 –7 –2 against the spread.  This week we jump into the black after spending the early part of the year deep in the red.

Bengals (-6) at Buccaneers
Gradkowski filled in nicely for Simms last week, and the Bucs sleeping ground game woke up against the Saints.  They’ll stay close, and they may have a shot at the win late.  Bengals 26 Buccaneers 23

Titans at Redskins (-10.5)
The Titans hung in against Indy last week because of the run game.  Washington is much better against the run than the Colts.  Redskins 31 Titans 13

Texans at Cowboys (-13)
The Texans come to town at the wrong time.  The Cowboys defense will be looking for respect after being embarrassed last week.  Cowboys 35 Texans 10

Bills (-1.5) at Lions
Both teams stink, but the idea of laying points with the Bills on the road doesn’t appeal to me at all.  Lions 24 Bills 21

Seahawks (-3) at Rams
The Seahawks have had some time to figure out how to score without Alexander, and their defense is good enough to handle the Rams.  Seahawks 27 Rams 14

Giants at Falcons (-3)
This is a tough game to call.  John Abraham should be back for Atlanta.  I like their defense better right now.
Falcons 23 Giants 16

Eagles (-3) at Saints
The Eagles will have a letdown after vanquishing the Cowboys last week, but I don’t like the fact that the Saints needed a punt return to pull off the win against Tampa.  Eagles 27 Saints 20

Panthers at Ravens (-3)
The Ravens are difficult to deal with at home.  The Panther offensive line isn’t ready for what they’ll see on Sunday.
Ravens 20 Panthers 7

Dolphins at Jets (-2.5)
The Jets always give Miami all they can handle even when the Dolphins are good.  Jets 24 Dolphins 20

Chargers (-10) at 49ers
This, quite simply, is a total mismatch.  Chargers 37 49ers 7

Chiefs at Steelers (-6.5)
This is a season-saving game for Pittsburgh.  They will step up.  Steelers 23 Chiefs 10

Raiders at Broncos (-15)
Unless they find a way on special teams, the Raiders aren’t getting near the end zone.  Broncos 31 Raiders 0

Monday – Bears (-11) at Cardinals
I would like to grab the points, but the Bears are playing too well right now, and Fitzgerald is out for Arizona.
Bears 30 Cardinals 13
