Nick Mangold Gets New Deal

Nick Mangold came into camp on the last year of his rookie deal.  He wanted a new contract but he chose to handle matters professionally and quietly.  On Monday, the New York Jets rewarded him in a very big way.  Mangold signed a contract that is reportedly worth 55 million over 7 seasons.  That makes Mangold the highest paid center in the league and according to the Star Ledger the guaranteed portion of the contract will surpass 20 million dollars.

Congratulations to Nick Mangold and thank you to all parties involved for handling matters behind closed doors.  It is nice to see an athlete honor his contract, put the team first and get rewarded at the same time.  A truly refreshing course of action for Camp Mangold.
