Jerricho Cotchery Interview Transcript 10/31/10

On the turnovers in the game…

My understanding of the rule is when both guys have the ball and hit the ground the ball goes to the offense. I had the ball in my hand once we hit the ground and I relaxed. I thought the ref saw, then he ended up ripping it out at the last second and it ended it up being a turnover. I don’t know how it looked in the replay booth but they got this one.

On struggling as a unit…

I only can speak for myself. I had opportunities to make plays and didn’t do so. They did a great job playing the ball and when that is in the air, you’ve got to snag it out of the air fast from one of those guys on the defense.

On the hit that knocked out the ball…

What happened was when I went up and caught the ball and brought it in, he put his helmet right on the ball and plucked it right out. I said to myself, ‘You have to be kidding me.’ Play after play they did a great job playing the ball.

On being a frustrating game…

It really was. I don’t ever want to play on Halloween again, I can tell you that much. This is a very frustrating game for me because I had some plays that could have been made and that’s the frustrating part about it; but we’ve got to move on. We’ve got a long season ahead (of us).
