NFL Power Rankings (Week 9)

Jetnation Week Eight Power Ratings

1. New England Patriots
If this team makes any noise in January, it should be recognized as Belichick’s finest work.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers
The defending champion Saints chose to play their best game this season while Pittsburgh was in town.  It was a combination of bad timing and bad offense for the Steelers.

3. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens pulled into a tie for the division league during their bye week.  Flacco needs to step up over the remaining schedule for this team to overtake Pittsburgh.

4. Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons can’t be too shocked to find out the Saints aren’t dead yet.  On the other hand, the fact that the Bucs are tied with the dirty birds for the top spot in the NFC South is the surprise of the season.

5. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts are moving through the regular season methodically despite a rash of injuries.

6. New York Giants
The Giants have to like their chances in the new-look NFC.

7. Green Bay Packers
Sunday’s win against the Jets is the kind of victory that can turn an average season into a great one.

8. New York Jets
The Jets have now been blanked coming out the preseason and off their bye week.  Can you say “over coaching”?

9. New Orleans Saints
The champs won a huge game on Sunday, not only for the standings but for their own self-confidence.  The rest of the conference graciously agreed to stand still while they got their game back on track.

10. Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs finally get a little respect from the top ten.  A win this week in Oakland would put them in the driver’s seat in the putrid AFC West.
