Attention Jets Fans: Don’t Vote For Sanchez

It appears that March Madness has carried over to the video game business as EA Sports is running an online “tournament” to determine the next cover athlete  for “Madden NFL 12.”   Here is how it works:

32 NFL Players have been ranked and put into 2 brackets, similar to the format used for the NCAA tournament.  Fans will then vote for their favorite players, with the champion appearing on the cover of “Madden NFL 12.”

While this is a very clever idea, being on the cover of Madden is not exactly a blessing as there is the infamous “Madden Curse.”  Several superstar players including the likes of Mike Vick, Donovan McNabb, and Ray Lewis have suffered misfortune after gracing the cover of the popular video game.  So with that being said, I ask all of Jets nation to not vote for Mark Sanchez, who was ranked 5th in a bracket.  While I agree it would be great to support Sanchez and “reverse the curse”, my cynical side from years of Jets disappointments just wants to avoid the situation altogether.

Woody Johnson injured- While attending the owner’s meetings in New Orleans, New York Jets owner Woody Johnson revealed that he was injured in a bicycle accident in Florida.  Johnson, who was walking with crutches, stated that he was hit by a car and suffered an ankle injury.  No further details were revealed.
