New York Jets News and Notes

Braylon Edwards pleads guilty to DWI- Wide receiver Braylon Edwards plead guilty to DWI charges which led to the following punishments from the state of New York:  $500 fine, license suspended for 6 months, ignition interlock device installed in his vehicle.

Brad Smith to test market- Over the past couple of days wide receiver Brad Smith has been interviewed on several radio and television stations and the same phrase has been mentioned in each spot:  “would be wise to see what the market looks like”. This should really come as no surprise as Smith and his versatility could command some decent coin in the open market.  I think Gang Green will be hard pressed to match the top offer that the former Missouri star will receive in the open market.

Bart barking on Twitter: Recently Bart Scott (@Madbacker57) tweeted some inspiring words for Jets fans.

“Can’t wait to knock somebody the hell out”

At this point Bart I think many fans would just be happy getting the players back in the facility.

Jason Taylor to play another year: There are several reports coming out of Florida that linebacker Jason Taylor would like to play another year.  Taylor, who was released by the Jets this past offseason, has stated that he would love to return to Gang Green but will keep his options open.

I would not be opposed to the Jets bringing back Taylor as he has some fire left in his tank and would be an excellent mentor to the Jets young linemen.  Then again I think the Jets should bring back Shaun Ellis as well.
