New York Jets Very Busy In Day One Of Free Agency

As expected the New York Jets were very busy in day one of free agency as the team re-signed offensive lineman Wayne Hunter, signed 11 undrafted free agents, as well as contacted and began negotiating with several unrestricted free agents.

Here is a quick recap from day one of free agency.

Former players- The Jets have reportedly reached out to free agents Antonio Cromartie, Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards, Shaun Ellis,  Eric Smith, and Brad Smith.  As of now it appears that these players are shopping themselves in the open market to make sure that they sign the best deal possible.

New additions? As day one of free agency rolled along the news started coming out fast and furious about players that Gang Green has been in contact with.  According to reports the Jets have talked to the following unrestricted free agents:

Defensive backs- Phillip Buchanon (Redskins), Drayton Florence (Bills), Nnamdi Asomugha (Raiders)

Linebacker- Antwan Barnes (Chargers)

Undrafted Free Agents signed- Here is the reported list of undrafted free agents that have been signed by the New York Jets.  The team has not confirmed any of the signings, but most of these players have confirmed the reports via Twitter.

Chris Stewart -Guard- Notre Dame

Davon Morgan- Safety- Virginia Tech

Nick Bellore- Linebacker- Central Michigan

Zane Taylor- Guard- Utah

Josh Baker- Tight End- Missouri State

Tom Ottaiano-Offensive Lineman- Monmouth

Dan DePalma- Wide Receiver- Westchester

Courtney Smith- Wide Receiver- South Alabama

Julian Posey- Defensive Back- Ohio

Mike Campbell- Wide Receiver- Temple

Collin Franklin- Tight End- Iowa State
