The Jets deemed Ellis expendable after drafting DE Muhammad Wilkerson in the first round of this years NDL draft.  Although it has been reported that the Jets were interested in bringing Ellis back on a one year deal.

The Jets play the Patriots on October 9 in Gillette Stadium.  NBC has the next game, a nationally televised Sunday night match-up on November 13th.   The Jets \ Patriots rivalry is intense enough, yet there never seems to be a shortage of fuel being added to the fire.
