NY Jets Continue To Shake Up The Roster

New York Jets

With some recent injuries, the New York Jets have been busy looking for quality players to add depth to the roster, specifically the Wide Receiver position.  Today Wide Receiver Ben Obomanu was released from the team. Three penalties this past Sunday against the Tennessee Titans likely did not help his case.

In addition, the Jets released recently acquired Running Back Kareem Huggins from the practice squad and brought back Line Backer Troy Davis who was with the team’s practice squad earlier in the season.

The Jets also signed Wide Receiver David Nelson today as a likely insurance policy due to Santonio Holme’s Hamstring injury and some question marks surrounding Stephen Hill’s return. Nelson is listed as 6’5″ 215 lbs and previously played with the Buffalo Bills.

It was reported by Jason La Canfora from CBS Sports today that the Jets worked out Wide Receiver Josh Cribbs and the word quickly spread throughout Jets Nation. Cribbs is known to be an excellent return man, he has tied the NFL record with eight kick off returns for Touchdowns.

It appears that the Jets decision makers are attempting to surround QB Geno Smith with as much offensive help as possible as they prepare to play the Atlanta Falcons this upcoming Monday night. Stay tuned for more breaking news and join the conversation in our New York Jets Message Board.
