David Nelson Let Go To Make Room For Harvin

Brian Costello is reporting that the New York Jets have parted ways with WR David Nelson to make room for recently acquired WR Percy Harvin.

Nelson was a pleasant surprise for the Jets last season after being signed early in the season.  He appeared to build a decent rapport with QB Geno Smith hauling in 36 catches for 423 yards, but has failed to build on that success.  Through seven games, Nelson has only eight receptions for 65 yards.
