Jets Waive J.C. Copeland

The New York Jets annouced on Saturday that they have waived fullback J.C. Copeland.

Copeland was originally signed as a rookie free agent in May. Dom Cosentino says that Copeland had a rough outing on the first day of practice.

Fullback J.C. Copeland, signed by the Jets in May after their rookie minicamp, was waived on Saturday after he had a rough outing during the team’s first fully padded practice of training camp.

Copeland and Tommy Bohanon had been the only fullbacks on the 90-man roster the Jets brought to camp.

During a one-on-one blocking drill Saturday, Copeland got completely run over by Deion Barnes, an undrafted free agent linebacker. Copeland also dropped a pass at another point in practice.

I started JetNation in 2005 and have been a New York Jets season ticket holder since graduating from high school. My dream is to see the New York Jets win the Super Bowl. Until then, I will be right here on JetNation writing, dreaming and talking NY Jets football.
