Antonio Allen Clears Waivers, Placed on IR

By Glenn Naughton

The New York Jets have announced that injured safety Antonio Allen has returned to the team after clearing waivers and has been placed on injured reserve.

Allen was hurt on the final play of practice last week, tearing his achilles while coming out of his stance and was waived by the Jets the following day.

Now back with Gang Green, Allen will be given the opportunity to stick with with Todd Bowles’ squad next season after what is sure to be a lengthy rehab and recovery process.
