Mehta: Wilkerson to Pass on Voluntary Workouts

By Glenn Naughton

To be filed in the “who didn’t see that coming” department, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News is reporting that New York Jets star defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson is not expected to take part in the team’s upcoming voluntary workout program.

Currently embroiled in a contract dispute that has many onlookers expecting an eventual trade, Wilkerson and the Jets appear headed for a divorce.

Still recovering from a leg fracture that he suffered in week 17, Wilkerson’s participation would be limited, but attending would  allow him to  check in with team trainers while taking part in the weight lifting portion of the workouts.
