The Jets have signed WR Frankie Hammond to a reserve/future contract.

The third-year player originally signed with the Chiefs in 2013 after going undrafted. Hammond spent his rookie campaign on Kansas City’s practice squad and made his pro debut in Week 1 the following year as a receiver and returner. In two seasons on the Chiefs’ active roster, the 6’1”, 184-pound Hammond appeared in 25 games and averaged 10.9 yards per punt return. He spent the 2016 season on KC’s P-squad.

The Florida product registered 63 receptions for 812 yards and six touchdowns during his time in Gainesville (2009-2012).

I started JetNation in 2005 and have been a New York Jets season ticket holder since graduating from high school. My dream is to see the New York Jets win the Super Bowl. Until then, I will be right here on JetNation writing, dreaming and talking NY Jets football.
