Former Scout: Jets Have Chance at Draft’s Best Quarterback

There are plenty of opinions floating around the internet from pundits, writers and bloggers in regards to who the best quarterback in this draft is, and which one the Jets should take in a couple of weeks.  According to Kristian Dyer

of NJ Metro, the answer to both questions are one in the same if you ask former NFL scout Dan Shonka.

When quizzed on the topic, Shonka had this to say, according to Dyer:

“Baker Mayfield is the best quarterback in the 2018 draft”, and “I believe they (the Jets)will take Mayfield.”

Shonka, who currently works for ourlads.com, a scouting site/service that offers in-depth analysis of draft eligible players, and he had some high praise for Mayfield in his report, citing his arm strength, poise and toughness, among other things.

Many believe Gang Green is currently torn between Mayfield and UCLA’s Josh Rosen, but it appears the decision is an easy one for at least one former talent evaluator.
