Multiple Jets Players Support Idea of Kingsbury as Next Head Coach

It all started late last night when Jets safety Jamal Adams sent out a tweet in support of hiring former Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury as the team’s new head coach when it was learned that he would be interviewing for the position. Adams replied to an SNY tweet that assumed his support for the move when they noted that he followed Kingsbury on Instagram; “U damn right” was Adams’ retort.

Just a short while later, fellow safety Marcus Maye replied to Adams’ tweet with a pair of praying hands in support of his teammate’s comments.

Then, in what could be another show of support, rookie tight end Chris Herndon sent out a tweet hours later, simply saying, “Heard ittttt”, with a pair of crossed fingers.  This one wasn’t quite as clear as Adams and Maye, but it certainly makes sense, and you can see by the replies that plenty of fans took it as another show of support.

Several names have surfaced as the Jets search has gotten under way, including Kingsbury, former Packers head coach Mike McCarthy, Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and former Bucs offensive coordinator Todd Monken.  The only candidate to withdraw his name was Matt Campbell of Iowa State, who appears to prefer the college ranks for the time being.
