Becton is in the bag; Jets ink First-Round Draft Choice

The Jets got themselves a big catch late last night when the team came to terms on a fully guaranteed $18 million contract for first round draft choice Mekhi Becton.

The big left tackle out of Louisville is expected to be a day one starter for Gang Green and to be Sam Darnold’s number one bodyguard for years to come.

The Jets have largely neglected the offensive line in the early rounds since the days of D’Brickashaw Ferguson and Nick Mangold who went on to become the foundation of some of the best Jets teams in franchise history.  The Jets are surely hoping the Becton’s selection will be a big first step in making the team relevant once again.
