Jets Trade Down, Select Auburn Safety Jamien Sherwood

Finally looking to address their defense, the Jets traded out of the bottom of the fourth round to move down and take Auburn safety Jamien Sherwood with the 146th pick.

More of a downhill big hitter, the Jets may envision Sherwood as a hybrid linebacker/safety for a defense that is in dire need of help on the outside.

In three seasons at Auburn, Sherwood had just one interception to go along with 140 tackles (8.5 for loss), 10 passes defended and 3 fumble recoveries.
