Crowder, Niesman Out; Cole & Perine Questionable

NY Jets Injury Report

The final NY Jets injury report for the week has been released. Mekhi Becton had a full week of practice, so he is good to go on Sunday. Jamison Crowder is out, he is still on the Covid list. Safety Sharrod Neasman is also definitely out.  The two question marks for Sunday are wide receiver Keelan Cole and running back La’Mical Perine.

Robert Saleh said that Cole is, “going to go down to the wire with evaluations”.

Saleh was also asked if they would make a roster move for another safety with Neasman being out for the game.

As of now, (Sheldrick) Redwine, obviously, is on our active and there’s still a possibility that we could pull up one of the practice squad safeties on gameday.

Another question was asked, with Becton missing OTAs and some time during camp what kind of leap is expected for him this season.

As far as the leap is concerned, that’s always going to be game to game. Yeah, there’s a couple of, he hasn’t practiced, or he’s practiced but he hasn’t played in a couple of weeks. Expecting him to pick up where he left off from Green Bay and, obviously, this first week and every week moving forward getting a little bit better and showcase why he’s the type of left tackle that deserves to be special.
