Injury Update (Wed); Jermaine Johnson Likely Out For Sunday

NY Jets head coach Robert Saleh spoke to the media on Wednesday and gave several injury updates.
For injuries, Jermaine (Johnson) will be out today. Heβs getting a lot better. Hopefully, we can get him back next week. Then, Duane (Brown), Quincy (Williams), and Braxton (Berrios) are all dealing with a couple of bumps and bruises. Theyβll be limited β not worried about them for the game.
Saleh was asked to clarify what next week meant and if Johnson would be available on Sunday.
It doesnβt look like it. Weβll see unless something happens today and tomorrow. Heβs probably not going to make it.
Quincy Williams had 14 tackles in his return against the Packers.
Like I said, heβs been playing really, really well, and heβs so raw coming out of Murray State, itβs a small college, out there playing nickel practically. When you watch his college, blurry, college tape, but you saw the speed, the length, the explosiveness, and itβs just a matter of time. It takes time to learn to play behind the ball and last year, he went through a lot of growing pains. We forced him in there and we were doing everything we could to help him and heβs now a second year and heβs been getting better and better so that injury, thank God, it didnβt derail him too long, but heβs having a really nice year and heβs only getting better and even for him, heβs got a long way to go, in terms of not only the physical part we all see, itβs the mental part, not only from a playbook standpoint, but then stacking up great days and remaining consistent in what heβs doing day in and day out. So, heβs trending in the right direction, and weβre really excited about him.
Denzel Mims isnβt injured but he has been a healthy scratch this week. Saleh was asked what Mims can do to be active on game day.
From a professional standpoint, heβs got to come in every day and do his job, thatβs all of us. It is hard in his shoes, but right now the other guys are playing good football, you can only dress five and thereβs a special teams value and all that stuff like weβve talked about. The reason why Denzel is here is because we still have a lot of faith in him, and he needs to continue working and be ready when his number is called.
