More Rest for Aaron Rodgers is Right Thing for Jets to do

After months of buildup and anticipation, we now know that Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers will not be coming back before the close of the 2024 NFL season.  Rodgers said as much on his weekly spot on the Pat McAfffee show.

Despite questioning the doubters from the moment the injury occurred, Rodgers acknowledged the fact that coming back in just fourteen weeks was “not realistic”.  For the Jets, the news has to come as a huge relief as they play out the string of yet another lost season.

Had the Jets been tempted to let Aaron Rodgers play a significant number of snaps as the season winds down, it would have been a huge risk to Rodgers’ long-term health given the play of their offensive line.

With the quarterback failing to get medically cleared, the Jets can now rest easy knowing that Rodgers will continue to heal on a normal schedule while looking forward to lining up under center next season.
