Jets Awarded Three Late Comp Picks Ahead of Draft

As expected, the New York Jets have been awarded three comp picks by the NFL.

The Jets were awarded three compensatory draft picks:

Round 6 (218)
Round 7 (256)
Round 7 (257)#Jets

Those picks will all be late day 3 picks as the Jets get picks 218, 256 and 257.  Pick number 257 will be Mr. Irrelevant.

Whether or not the picks are used or traded remains to be seen.  Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy has been adamant for some time now that because of college players opting to return to school, this year’s day three class is one of the weakest we’ve seen in years.

Nagy believes day 3 picks this year will be used on players that teams wish to avoid having an undrafted free agent bidding war over.
