Five of the Best NFL International Games So Far

NFL International Games

On this page, we will be taking a quick look at five of the most memorable NFL international games that have taken place so far outside of the United States and revealing which team might come out on top next season at the Super Bowl based on the latest average NFL odds currently being offered by some of the iGaming industry’s most trusted online bookmakers.

Why do some NFL games take place outside of the United States?

Each year during the National Football League (NFL) regular season, a series of games takes place outside of the United States as part of the NFL International Series, which helps raise the global profile of the sport and, ultimately, increase revenue.

There are a handful of locations where the NFL International Series matches have taken place, such as London, Mexico, Germany, Brazil, Madrid, Dublin, and Melbourne, and since these international fixtures have taken place, there have been several memorable ones that have really stood out.

What are the five best NFL International Series games so far?

According to most NFL fans, five of the most memorable international matches that have stood out from the rest are the following:

  • When: 2023. Where: Frankfurt, Germany. Game: Kansas City Chiefs vs Miami Dolphins
  • When: 2008. Where: London, England. Game: New Orleans Saints vs San Diego Chargers
  • When: 2022. Where: Munich, Germany. Game: Seattle Seahawks vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • When: 2017. Where: London, England. Game: Baltimore Ravens vs Jacksonville Jaguars
  • When: 2019. Where: London, England. Game: Houston Texans vs Jacksonville Jaguars

Honourable mentions

Some of the other top-rated NFL games played outside of the United States that were equally as memorable included the match between the Buffalo Bills and the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023 in London, the New England Patriots vs the St. Louis Rams in 2012, also in London, and when the Carolina Panthers played against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019, also in London.

The other two memorable NFL matches include when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers played the Chicago Bears in London in 2011 and when the Buffalo Bills played the Washington Redskins in Toronto in 2011.

One of the next big upcoming international matches that is expected to be a thrilling NFL game worth watching this year is when the New York Jets take on the Denver Broncos on October 12 at the Northumberland Development Project stadium in London, England.

Who will win the 2025/26 Super Bowl?

According to the latest average odds, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles are the two teams with the best chance of winning the 2025/26 Super Bowl, followed by the Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, and Detroit Lions.

At the time of writing, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles are both jointly priced at around 7.50 in the decimal odds format to win the 2025/26 Super Bowl (Super Bowl LX), which is +650 in American/moneyline odds, and 13/2 in fractional odds, meaning they both have a 13.30% implied probability rate of winning.

Final thoughts

If you plan to watch any international NFL games, always remember to book your tickets well in advance from reputable vendors and to plan and book your travel and accommodation well in advance of the event.
