Last Sunday, the New York Jets fought hard but ultimately fell 34-32 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. It marked the regular season debut for head coach Aaron Glenn and QB Justin Fields, among others.

Now, the Jets get their first crack at an AFC East rival, as the Buffalo Bills are making their annual trip to MetLife Stadium. The past few Jets vs. Bills games haven’t gone Gang Green’s way. Will that change this Sunday?

New York Jets Spread vs. Bills: +6.5 (-105) via DraftKings Sportsbook

This is a spread to avoid from a Jets perspective. Even after last week’s near-upset and ATS win, the Buffalo Bills pose a much more formidable challenge.

Buffalo is 8-2 against the Jets since 2020, and seven of those victories were by at least eight points. The Bills beat the spread in their previous three matchups with the Jets. New York looked good in Week 1, but Buffalo battled and beat a Super Bowl contender.

If there’s a reason to back the Jets’ spread in this one, it’ll be because the offense balls out again. New York finished with 32 points against a Steelers defense that’s supposed to be among the NFL’s best. They finished with 8.6 yards per play, the fourth-most in the league.

Meanwhile, Buffalo coughed up 40 at home despite the win. No defense allowed more yards per play than the Bills in Week 1. Hitting the road, Buffalo’s defense may struggle again.

History isn’t on New York’s side with this one, but there is a sliver of hope in this young season.

Jets vs. Bills Total Pick: Over 46.0 (-109) via BetRivers

Let’s start this one with Week 1 results. The Jets finished fifth in scoring, fifth in yards, and fourth in yards per play. The visiting Bills finished Week 1 first in scoring, first in yards, and third in yards per play. Both offenses were electric in their season debuts.

On the flip side, each team allowed far too many points. New York gave up 34 points, a total only eclipsed by two teams. Buffalo was one of them, as they surrendered 40 points to open 2025. Both defenses should be sharper this week and all season, but it seems as if the offenses are further ahead right now.

Then, there’s recent history. Seven of the previous eight Jets games, excluding the preseason, found their way over the total. The over is 6-2-2 in Buffalo’s last 10 games. Both of last season’s Jets vs. Bills battles exceeded the total.

The weather should be nice, and these offenses will take advantage of it again on Sunday.

New York Jets Prop Bet of the Week: Breece Hall Over 55.5 Rushing Yards (-118) via BetRivers

Breece Hall began his contract year with a bang, racking up 107 rushing yards on 19 attempts in Week 1. Even with Fields (12 rushing attempts) and Braelon Allen (6) jockeying for carries, Hall was the undisputed feature in the run game.

Hall has also feasted in his two home games against the Bills. Two years ago, he finished with 127 rushing yards on 10 carries. Last season, Hall had 113 rushing yards in 18 attempts when Buffalo traveled to MetLife. Outside of those successes, Hall’s career average is 59.5 rushing yards per game.

The Bills’ run defense wasn’t anything special last season. They opened this season by coughing up 238 rushing yards in 29 attempts.

The Jets, particularly Breece Hall, have an opportunity on the ground this weekend and should take advantage of it.  Expect plenty more rushing yards from Hall in Week 2. Taking Breece Hall to score his first career TD against the Bills is also an intriguing option on Sunday.
