Will Brady get Shot to Cook Fish? Jets QB to Back up Taylor

Will Brady Cook get to take his first pro snaps today against the Dolphins?

The New York Jets have elevated the undrafted free agent quarterback with Justin Fields on the shelf with what the team is calling “knee soreness”.  If all goes well and Gang Green is able to jump out to an early lead (or late deficit), perhaps Cook will take his first pro snaps in front of a home crowd for a team that’s 3-2 in its last five games.

Cook isn’t the only candidate to make his NFL debut as nickel corner Jordan Clark has been activated after Jarvis Brownlee landed in IR along with linebacker Marcelino McCrary-Ball.

Along with the pair of undrafted rookie free agents, Darren Mougey and company also elevated defensive backs Tre Brown and Nik Needham.

Brown has appeared in 44 career games with the Seahawks and Rams, racking up 74 tackles, a sack and an interception.  Needham is a former Dolphin who has played 63 games (27 starts), picking up 200 tackles, six interceptions and a forced fumble.
