Jets vs. Patriots Betting Preview | Week 17 2025

Brady Cook

Happy Holidays! UnitedGamblers.com is talking some more Jets football this Christmas. Andre has been appearing on JetNation throughout the 2025 NFL season to provide betting information, tips, and predictions for the New York Jets and the NFL. The team’s home finale will be a tough rivalry clash.

With only two games remaining, the Jets are in a prime position for a top-five pick after a sleepy Sunday in New Orleans. The defense was a mess while the offense barely showed a pulse. Things only get more difficult this weekend.

New York will get their rematch with the New England Patriots, who are tied for the AFC’s top seed. Round one between these rivals ended with a 27-14 Patriots win that was largely uncompetitive.

Will the Jets put a wrench in New England’s postseason plans on Sunday? Let’s see what Week 17 has in store for Gang Green. If you want to bet on this game, check out the best football betting apps available.

New York Jets Spread vs. Patriots: +13.5 (-110) via BetMGM

The best thing going for the Jets’ side, betting-wise, in this game is that they’re such large underdogs again.

New York went to Foxborough, in a short week, and kept the game within 14 points, albeit narrowly. The offense had rushing success (140 yards, 5.0 yards per carry) and only turned the ball over once. With a similar performance, the Jets’ offense can limit New England’s possessions on Sunday to help themselves keep it within 14 points.

Getting stops is where things get tricky for the Jets. Drake Maye and Stefon Diggs didn’t meet much resistance in that November battle, which negated otherwise stout run defense that night. New York does not get sacks (29th) or force turnovers (last).

On paper, the Patriots have the edge in nearly every way. Unfortunately, the Jets probably won’t win this game.

However, the Jets can keep this within 14 points, especially at home. They were able to do so on the road, powered by an effective ground game. The Patriots, for all their success this season, are only 3-4-0 ATS in their past seven matchups.

Back New York to snap their ATS losing streak on Sunday.

Jets vs. Patriots Total Pick: Under 42.5 (-102) via DraftKings Sportsbook

Although both of these teams have loved the over more than the under this season, head-to-head matchups haven’t followed suit the past few years. The under has hit in six of the previous seven meetings between these franchises, including the one earlier this season.

New England allows the seventh-fewest points per game, so their defense is tough. The Jets’ offense has failed to exceed 20 points in seven of their previous 10 games and is clearly struggling. Passing downs probably won’t be kind to Gang Green, and controlling the clock with an effective run game is their best bet to avoid quick possessions.

That’ll also be the greatest asset for the defense. The Patriots have finished with at least 23 points in 12 consecutive games, and they average 27.7 points on the road. New England is seventh in scoring overall. That offense will find a way to put up points, but like the November battle, if the Jets can win at the line of scrimmage, that number won’t swell too high.

This total may feel tight in the fourth quarter, but this game should remain under the total when the final whistle blows.
