Still working to assemble an offensive staff after moving on from coordinator Tanner Engstrand, the Jets are set to meet with veteran play caller Greg Roman. Previously the OC for the 49ers, Bills, Ravens and Chargers, Roman was let go following LA’s first-round playoff loss last month.
It’s being reported that Roman is the most recent in-person interview as one of three finalists that the Jets have narrowed their search down to. That list also includes Stanford interim head coach Frank Reich and Darrell Bevell who last served as an OC in Jacksonville for the 3-14 Jaguars who finished 32nd in points scored.
Connor Hughes of SNY is also speculating that the Roman interview could be for a position other than offensive coordinator as Aaron Glenn looks to add several offensive assistants to his staff. Perhaps having Roman come in as a run game coordinator to work under Reich is a possibility.
