Aaron Glenn and the Jets have themselves an offensive coordinator as former Colts head coach and long-time OC Frank Reich was brought on by Gang Green today. This, according to multiple sources.
Given the current state of the franchise, Reich was probably the best the Jets could have hoped for. He’s veteran play caller, former head coach and of course, a former QB. Just who Reich brings along to join his staff remains to be seen, but perhaps the biggest decision will be who the Jets plan on bringing in to be their quarterbacks coach.
In his four seasons as a coordinator, from 2014-2017, Reich 3rd, 16th, 27th, and 17th respectively in two seasons apiece with the Eagles and Colts. Oot of the NFL for the past two seasons, Reih was the interim head coach for Stanford last season where the Cardinal averaged 18.8 PPG (117th in the country), and 306.5 YPD, placing them 124th.
Reich will have his work cut out for him as the Jets will scramble to find a quarterback this offseason. Expect the club to add a veteran free agent and a draft pick outside of round 1.
