Despite having just over $2 million in salary cap space, Jets General Manager Mike Maccagnan doesn’t appear to be the least bit deterred in acquiring missing pieces to round out his roster.

According to Connor Hughes of USA Today, one recent attempt came up short as the Jets offered Cardinals free agent tight end Jermaine Gresham a four-year deal after meeting with him extensively on Saturday.  Ultimately, Gresham chose to return to the Cardinals on a one-year contract.

Hughes is reporting that the Bears were also in on the bidding for Gresham.
