Coaching Changes

The Jets have announced a few changes to the coaching staff. Special Teams coach Mike Westhoff won’t coach in 2008. He is scheduled to have surgery on his leg in February. Although he hasn’t officially retired, he definitely won’t coach in 2008. Mike Westhoff is one of the best Special Teams coaches in the game. He has done wonders for the Jets since joining the staff in 2001. We here at JetNation wish Mr. Westhoff a speedy recovery.

Secondary coach, Mike MacIntyre has accepted the job at Duke to be their defensive coordinator. No replacements have been named.

One other rumor out there is that Rob Ryan has been fired by the Raiders and hired by the Jets in the same capacity. This has not been confirmed.
