Chatman and Ainge to I.R.

The Jets announced that they have placed RB Jesse Chatman and QB Erik Ainge on the injured reserve list. This move ends both of their seasons.

Chatman sat out the first four games due to a suspension. He came back in week five and saw limited action. This past week he injured his left knee which closes out what will definitely be a frustrating season for Chatman. He won the 3rd RB job with a strong camp but was not able to translate that into regular season success.

Ainge, who has not been active yet this season, has what the Jets described as a right foot injury. In reality he is most likely suffering more from roster-spot-itis. The Jets need some roster room because they are banged up at tight end and kicker.

No word on who the Jets will sign to fill these openings.
