Jets add Adams and Wright to Practice Squad

Titus Adams demonstrates the choke hold.The New York Jets announced they have signed defensive tackle Titus Adams and wide receiver Wallace Wright to their practice squad. The team also announced that the have waived practice squad players, defensive tackle Matt McChesney and wide receiver Dante Ridgeway. The announcements were made by Jets’ General Manager Mike Tannenbaum. Adams, a former seventh-round selection of the Jets, has played in 48 games for the University of Nebraska.  Adams made 21 starts and recorded 134 career tackles, 3.5 sacks and two interceptions, returning one of the picks for a touchdown while with the Cornhuskers. 

Wright, an undrafted free agent, played four seasons for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels after originally entering school as a walk-on before earning a scholarship. Wright was the primary kickoff return man for UNC the past four seasons and added 23 receptions for 312 yards and three touchdowns.  Ridgeway, originally a sixth-round selection of St. Louis, was originally claimed off waivers by the Jets after last season’s roster cut-downs. Last season he played in seven games for the Jets, recording two receptions for 26 yards, while making two special teams tackles. McChesney, originally an undrafted free agent by St. Louis, was signed to the Jets’ practice squad last season and saw action in three contests, recording three solo tackles.
